Hello, dear readers.
I’ve recently made the decision to close shop.
To say you have been the meat in this Tumbleweed sandwich is an understatement. Your high fives, comments, and resounding support have meant more to me than you can ever know.
I’ve been on this blogging road for a decade now. Two years as a quirky newsletter with no fixed address, six years at The Acorn, and two right here with my Tumbleweeds.
Oh yes, and I wrote a little book called The Wheel of Wellness in between.

My writing has always held a common thread: wellness.
Just as much, it has been about friends, family, community, kindness, culture, giving back, and a generous sprinkling of magic. These vehicles for my thoughts were little engines that could, clueless on marketing and branding, big on heart.
Lately, I’ve found myself waking up with the feeling that I’ve said everything I have to say on the subject of wellness, and probably everything you want to hear. Someone once said that everything has a beginning, a middle, and an end. The trick is to notice when it’s the end.
The Acorn and Tumbleweed will remain active and the archives are free for the taking. Many of the subjects we’ve covered over the years are timeless, and the data and research remain relevant.
To my paid subscribers, you’re simply the best.
You voted with your pocketbook, and taught me that my writing is worth something. Paid subscriptions will, of course, be paused immediately. Your support has meant the world to me.
THANK YOU.
As for myself, I’m taking a much needed break, enjoying family, travel, walking in the woods, tennis, and petting my dog. Along the way I’ll likely dream up new adventures. But right now, my plan is to stop and smell the flowers.
Thank you, dear reader, for joining me on this journey. This may be the end of Tumbleweed, but as many of us suspect, when one door closes, a window opens. I’ll wait to see where that window leads.
I’ll leave you with one of my favourite quotes. It’s a sentiment with which we can all relate. I hope that in some small way, I have scattered the seeds of this ethos at Tumbleweed.
“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the beauty in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that one life has breathed easier because you lived.
This is to have succeeded”.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Blessings and a beautiful summer to all. I’ll hope to meet you on the street, or in this virtual space where we all commune. This journey with you has been an honour and a privilege.
