I totally agree with this Heather, chatting to strangers can change your day. Like you I would say I am more introvert than extrovert, but I have learnt from my mum (and experience) that a smile, a hello, or a comment on a fab outfit or book, can bring a little light into a grey winter day. Hopefully it shares a little joy too! x

Oh I loved this! And what a beautiful , unexpected joy to see that poem and my name in your wonderful essay. I just got back home last night and have finally started to catch up on my reading. I like to think of you as someone I can chat to from afar and hope we meet in person soon!

I too was shy growing up but aging has helped me connect with strangers and enjoy the interactions while feeling that I have brightened their day as well.
